Syncing Stopped
When your Xero syncing stops as a Practice Admin log into your Xero settings, and an alert should appear with the reason for the syncing failing.
Custom Item: 'XXXXXXX'. Error: Item Code must not be more than 17 characters long.
This error is due to a Non-MBS item which has been created being too long in character length. Currently the maximum length for an item to be synced to Xero from Clinic to Cloud is 17 characters including spaces.
Fix - Error: Item Code must not be more than 17 characters long
1. Under the the settings menu select "Non-MBS Items"
2. Search under the Item Number for the Custom Item number causing the issue. Check under all tabs
- Non-MBS Items
- Stock Items
- Allied Health
3. Click on the edit button to update the item number to a description with a maximum length of 17 characters including spaces.
4. Click on Update
5. The sync will automatically resume, however if you do not wish to wait, navigate back to the Xero settings screen and click on "Force Start Invoices Sync"
