[COMING SOON] Editing a Letter (Doctor)

Brief Overview

Once a Letter has been created it may need to be reviewed and changed prior to signing.  This article explains how to use the Scheduler > Letters module and the editing options available to you depending on the Status of the Letter.  

Doctor user types are able to edit a Letter in the following statuses:

  • Draft (only if they are user who created it)
  • Sent for Edit
  • Ready for Review
  • Signed

 

The Short Version

  1. Go to Scheduler > Letters and locate the Letter to be edited.
  2. Select the pencil/edit icon and make changes as required. 
  3. Choose an action button to complete the Letter.  

ImportantLetters in Sent status cannot be edited.

 

Instructions

1.  Locate the Letter to be edited.

a.  Go to Scheduler > LettersAll To Review tabs.

2.  Editing a Letter in Draft status.  

Note:  Letters in Draft status are only visible to the user who created them  

a.  Go to the All tab > click Pencil/Edit icon of the Draft Letter you want to edit > the Letter Creator overlay will appear.

b.  Make any changes to the Letter as required.

c.  Finalise the Letter by selecting:

  • Send (if the To recipient is eligible for Secure Messaging) x_Send.png 
    • Sends the Letter immediately to the To recipient.
    • Status is updated to Sent and is moved to the Sent tab. 
    • Letter will show in Secure Messages > Sent Messages
  • Send for Edit x._Send_for_Edit.png
    • Status is updated to Send for Edit and is moved to the All tab.
  • Sign x._Sign.png
    • Status is updated to Signed and is moved to the All/Signed tabs.
  • Save as Draft x._Save_as_Draft.png
    • Status remains as Draft, in the All tab, and is only visible to the user who created it.

3.  Editing a Letter in Ready for Review status.  

a.  Go to the All or To Review tab > click Pencil/Edit icon of the Letter you want to edit > the Letter Creator overlay will appear.

b.  Make any changes to the Letter as required.

c.  Finalise the Letter by selecting:

  • Send (if the To recipient is eligible for Secure Messaging)  x_Send.png
    • Sends the Letter immediately to the To recipient.
    • Status is updated to Sent and is moved to the Sent tab. 
    • Letter will show in Secure Messages > Sent Messages
  • Send for Edit  x._Send_for_Edit.png
    • Status is updated to Send for Edit and is moved to the All tab.
  • Sign  x._Sign.png
    • Status is updated to Signed and is moved to the All/Signed tabs.
  • Save as Draft  x._Save_as_Draft.png
    • Status remains as Draft, in the All tab, and is only visible to the user who created it.

 

4.  Editing a Letter in Sent for Edit status.  

a.  Go to the All tab > click Pencil/Edit icon of the Letter you want to edit > the Letter Creator overlay will appear.

b.  Make any changes to the Letter as required.

c.  Finalise the Letter by selecting:

5.  Editing a Letter in Signed status.  

a.  Go to the All tab > click Pencil/Edit icon of the Letter you want to edit > the Letter Creator overlay will appear.

b.  Make any changes to the Letter as required.

c.  Finalise the Letter by selecting:

  • Send (if the To recipient is eligible for Secure Messaging)  x_Send.png
    • Sends the Letter immediately to the To recipient.
    • Status is updated to Sent and is moved to the Sent tab. 
    • Letter will show in Secure Messages > Sent Messages
  • Send for Edit  x._Send_for_Edit.png
    • Status is updated to Send for Edit and is moved to the All tab.
  • Sign  x._Sign.png
    • Status is updated to Signed and is moved to the All/Signed tabs.
  • Save as Draft  x._Save_as_Draft.png
    • Status remains as Draft, in the All tab, and is only visible to the user who created it.

6.  When the Letter status is Sent.  

A Letter cannot be edited once it has reached the status of Sent.
