Desktop: Create Letters Using Voice Recognition

 

Here is a simple guide on how to create letters using Voice Recognition.

  1. Double click on a patient appointment
  2. Go to “Letters”
  3. Select  if you want to self-correct a letter

OR

Select  if you want to send the letter to a typist

 

If you have chosen Self Correct mode.

(self-correct mode), please follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure the “to” and “CC” fields are correct
  2. Select the template you wish to use
  3. Click on the  icon to start recording
  4. Start dictating, and when you are finished, simply say “microphone off” or click on the icon at the top of the screen to stop and start.
  5. Make corrections to the letter
  6. Select “Ok”
  7. Complete a final check within the template
  8. “Sign”
  9. Done
 

 

If you have chosen Typist mode here are the steps below:

  1. Ensure the “to” and “CC” fields are correct
  2. Select the template you wish to use
  3. Click on the icon to start recording
  4. Dictate, and to stop dictating click on icon
  5. To play the audio, select icon
  6. To continue dictating, select icon
  7. To rerecord the whole dictation, select icon
  8. If you are happy to proceed, select “create”

 

Tips & Tricks

  • Any letters that are signed or created by doctor will be saved in the “letters” section
  • Doctors can also sign off their own letters
  • Admin can only view the letter to make quality checks and pass this onto the doctor for final checks
  • Doctors have access to Voice Recognition on their mobile phones to do letters at remote sites or ward runs using typist mode
  • Doctors can also create letters from the appointment screen instead of going into a consult if not needed. You will find your VR icons top right hand side
